Asia in Kuala Lumpur is UOP’s Regional operations center to support the ASIA PACIFIC market with a fully staffed and equipped team of specialist covering sales, basic design, sales support, detailed design, procurement, fabrication follow-up, start-up and services Be part of a team assessing and driving achievement of program specific performance within Honeywell PMT - UOP.
•Aligns Center goals with departmental and business strategic plan.
•Represents Engineering in Regional Meetings.
•Coordinates performance management (HPD), career development (MRR), and salary administration of Center staff.
•Communicates business and departmental objectives, strategies, and priorities to Center staff.
•Reviews and reports project cost and schedule metrics.
•Facilitates engineering input to technical proposal preparation. Coordinates Engineering and Equipment input to Sales and Technology Managers for proposals that accurately and clearly reflect the required work and desired margins.
•Promotes HSE best practices inside and outside of the office environment.
•Works with Technical Services to support the troubleshooting of operational problems.
•Participates in customer-related Project Review Meetings as appropriate to support the Center.
•Maintains productive working relationships with managers and staff in the engineering department technology and skill centers, as well as Sales, Technical Services and Process Development.
•Participates in Engineering Leadership Team activities and leads selected initiatives.
•Promotes use of Honeywell tools, such as Six Sigma, to enhance and improve the engineering work process and work product
•Organize engineering meetings with customers (e.g. KOM, P&ID review, HAZOP review) and attend those meetings as required.
•Issue the basic engineering design questionnaire and monitor customer responses.
•Manage the customer interface for selected regional projects by providing a liaison function between the project execution group and customers as needed during the basic design (Schedule A) and post Schedule A phases.
•Manage project change orders in concert with the project execution group.
•Provide support to the project execution PM for SAP management.
•Organize weekly or monthly project status reports for customers as required.
•With support from Eng management, support Regional refining and petrochemical Engineering sales events by developing the UOP scope of work and the associated engineering agreement language that define extended deliverables, outsourced deliverables, and full ES&E scope of supply.
•Support Regional sales events by meeting with customers regarding UOP deliverables including Engineering scope of supply.
YOU MUST HAVE
•Engineering Degree / Project Management
•10+ years experience in the Refining and Petrochemical industry
•People Management experience
•Familiar with UOP Basic Engineering Design package deliverables and work-process
•Demonstrated strong leadership skill
- Business acumen knowledge of current and emerging practices, methods, and information relating to discipline and application within the industry
- Diverse and global teaming and collaboration
- Strong management operating system that facilitates communication
- Ensures that departmental core competencies include continuous PE skill development.
- Understand of business objectives and more importantly the ability to interact with our customers
- Work with functional leaders to prioritize resources and implement project objectives.
- Persuade to influence other to accept new concepts, practices, and approaches
- Significant experience in engineering
