Under the direction of the EHS Manager and Project Management team, the Project EHS Supervisor will be responsible for providing support to the project management team, supervisors, workers and contractors. This position will provide leadership and coordination of the day-to-day safety requirements of the assigned project
Project EHS Planning and Execution (25%)
Develop a Project/ Site Safety Management Plan (SSMP) for the project to ensure a safe work environment for all company employees, contractors, visitors and community.
Implement/ execute SSMP programs as required by Cargill EHS standards (i.e. Construction Safety Management Programs, LIFEsavers field checks, etc.)
EHS Risk Management (20%)
- Identifying and assessing EHS risks for the project with proposed solutions and ensure follow-up actions taken for the significant risks.
Training & Communication (25%):
Responsible for ensuring that site workers are properly trained regarding Cargill EHS standard requirements.T
Training responsibilities may involve conducting safety orientations, daily "toolbox" safety meetings, periodic safety meetings and formal training sessions on a wide range of safety-related topics.
Communicate, coach and assist the field contractors/ workers to ensure that all safety expectations are understood and met.
Coordinate a regular meeting with project safety team to review issues, trends and upcoming conditions or events.
Review safety obligations of the contractor and ensure they are carried out as per the terms of the agreement, and communicated to the Project Manager and EHS Manager
EHS Inspection and Audit (20%)
Plan and conduct site safety audit and inspection regularly and timely troughout the project timeline
Documenting significant findings with proposed control measures and ensure follow-up actions taken for risk mitigation.
Regularly audit the SSMP for compliance and update to ensure the alignment with project scope and conditions.
Incident Management (10%)
Ensure that all incidents (unsafe condition and behavior, serious injury & fatality (SIF) potential near misses, recordable & reportable injury, property damage, environmental spillage, etc) are captured and reported accordingly.
Participate and assist the supervisors, Project and EHS Managers in the investigation of incidents to determine root cause, and corrective actions where necessary. Ensure incident corrective actions are followed up on and completed.
Maintain timely reports of incidents for the management action & for reporting to Cargill and the statutory authorities as required.
Education, Experience, Skills
Possess a Certificate or Diploma in Engineering or Science, preferably in Occupational Safety & Health and/or Certificate of attendance in Safety & Health Officer from a DOSH recognized training institution.
Registered with DOSH as Site Safety Supervisor (i.e. Yellow Book Holder).
Minimum 5 years EHS field experience.
Minimum 3 years of supervisor experience.
Proficient in Microsoft office applications.
The ability to demonstrate the application of risk assessment to construction operations and activities.
