This position is responsible for the delivery of the engineering of the large and complex project from the transfer between ITO/OTR up to the closing of the project. Also define and deploy a core set of principles, process, tools and best practices, and ensure their application in project execution. He will be responsible to ensure collaboration between the Engineering Center of Excellence (CoE) and the assigned Project Engineering Managers.
Lead team of Project Engineering Managers located within Asia Pacific region
To define review cycle and organize project engineering review with strong focus on the on time delivery
To make applied the engineering processes and tools
To challenge the project team on the use of our reference solution and standard solution
To participate with the PD/PM in the definition of the engineering management plan,
Complex and large project in ITO - Review and validate the engineering execution strategy and participate and validate the Tender validation meeting
Complex and large project in OTR - Nominate the project engineering and secure the team mobilization, Validate the Engineering management plan, OTD of engineering work packages,
Manage and control overall engineering workload plan,
oTo structure and define the overall strategy with engineering partners or contractors,
oTo organize the Return of Experience (RoE) to ITO and reference solution,
oSet-up task force with Sub Region Project Leadership when needed in case of engineering
slippage, define mitigation plan and organize the catch-up plan
oTo organize team mobilization and engineering workload review with stakeholders and identify
resource gap and propose mitigation action.
oPeople Management - Lead and manage the team to ensure performance standards, annual
objectives, Ensure the team has the right level of know-how and competency to perform their
responsibilities through coaching and development, Develop the community of PEMs.
•Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in engineering, or a related field
•8+ years’ experience in the OTR projects space and/or related operations experience
•5+ years’ experience leading diverse teams
•Ability to travel 25-50% of the time
•Broad knowledge of the power generation industry including gas turbine, steam turbine, generator
and combined cycle technology as well as integrated power plant solutions
•Successful experience management of engineering team
•Several experiences in EPC project execution as Project Manager or Project Engineering
•Willingness to work in different locations for short or medium period and to travel world-wide when
•Mastering of engineering process in Power Generation or Power Transmission environment
•Strong influencing and relationship building skills at all levels and with customers
•Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated presentation skills and ability
to succinctly communicated complex messages
•Strong project management skills in multiple business environments
•Technical and commercial understanding of the power generation industry
•Demonstrated ability to lead in an unstructured environment and achieve results
