AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals LP Transition Manager - Finance in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia

At AstraZeneca every one of our employees makes a difference to patient lives everyday. In Finance you may not feel you're at the frontline of research but your role in changing patients' lives is critical. Our mission is ambitious and it takes the skills of a collaborative team to really deliver on what science can do and to always put patients first.

We need great people who share our passion for science and have the drive and determination to meet the unmet needs of patients around the world. If you’re swift to action, confident to lead, willing to collaborate, and curious about what science can do, then you’re our kind of person.

AstraZeneca’s Finance function is on a transformation journey with the objective of delivering excellence in financial operations and insight. As this strategy continues to drive the effectiveness and performance of the business, to the benefit of millions of patients worldwide, best in class finance support and leadership becomes ever more important. Throughout 2017 Finance has been moving to a new operating model including the establishment of IFS (Integrated Finance Solutions) with services delivered from 3 regional centres in Malaysia, Costa Rica and Poland.

As this has been a significant transition of roles from all SET areas and all regions, AZ has utilised experienced external experts to date however the Finance Operating Model will continue to evolve and change over the medium and long term. This is anticipated to involve ongoing transitions with the introduction of Global Business Services there will also be a need to manage transitions for new services potentially wider than the Finance function.

The focus to date has been very much on the lift and shift of activities but over the next few years the focus will turn to driving transformation through the Operating Model. AZ therefore need to build an internal capability that can lead and support future transitions as well as execute change. We are looking to recruit 2 transition managers to join the Regional IFS centres in Kuala Lumpur and Warsaw. These roles will report to the Regional IFS Leads in each of the centres but will be assigned to the Finance Transformation team in the short term to build their knowledge, skills and transition and change experience.
