We currently have an exciting opportunity for an energetic and self-motivated individual to join our highly successful Innovation team based in Petaling Jaya.

Reporting to the Brand Manager, the Assistant Brand Manager is accountable for delivering key brand projects – supporting the strategies and objectives of the brand. The manager’s primary responsibility is conceptualizing and implementing assigned consumer projects ensuring that they are aligned to brand’s strategy which shall help deliver the brand and financial objectives within the set timing, cost and quality expectations. This position also requires the manager to lead a number of project teams and strongly collaborate with the cross-functional business team.

Some of the key accountabilities for this role will include (but are not limited to):

Building Brand Equity

  • Clear understanding of 5 phases of MDLZ Marketing Strategy Framework of the brand.

  • Clear understanding of brand Product Quality Strategy, Packaging Strategy and Pricing Strategy.

  • Understands how the projects fit into the brand strategy framework. Tailors projects to deliver against brand objectives.

  • Projects deliver against business objectives and support brand equity.

  • Lead (plan, execute and track) particular Tools and Tasks of brand Integrated Marketing Communication (IMC).

  • Accountable for brand consumer promotions and ensure the fit of IMC and brand strategy.

  • Tools and Tasks that deliver against Communication Goals and address Marketing Challenge.

  • Quality of creative work and adherence to brand iconography.

Project Management

  • Lead cross-functional project teams on assigned projects.

  • Responsible for ensuring assigned projects deliver the brand objectives, financial objectives, timing, cost and quality expectations.

  • Projects meet business expectations.

  • Quality and timeliness of project delivery.

  • Responsible for post-program assessment. & lessons learned.

Insights

  • Supports Manager in development and articulation of consumer insights.

  • Understands the competitive environment and develops recommendations to address on identified projects or new projects.

  • Solid understanding of shopper insight that enable them to develop marketing programs in relevant channels.

  • Learn relevant tools and methodologies that to identify consumer insights that set the foundation of marketing decisions.

  • Insights clearly articulated.

  • Assigned projects leverage relevant consumer, competitive and shopper insights.

NPD and Innovation

  • Solid understanding of “Ideas to Market” (i2M) and New Product Development (NPD) processes.

  • Accountable for executing components of NPD projects.

  • Deliver against timing, cost and quality targets

Distribution/Channel Management

  • Jointly with Sales collaborate to leverage shopper insight to execute projects against channels selected.

  • Understand the evolving channel dynamics and apply to projects as relevant

  • Projects aligned to agreed upon channel strategies that deliver channel objectives.

Strategic Planning

  • Awareness of Mondelez Corporate strategies, Country strategies and their specific Portfolio & Brand strategies

  • Clearly understand brand’s strategies and how these guide their specific projects.

  • Ensure their projects are consistent with Mondelez strategies.

P&L Management / Financial Forecasting

  • Accountable to deliver project P&L in line with brand objectives.

  • Provide quality input into forecasting for their assigned projects.

  • Achieve financial metrics.

  • Forecasts accurate for assigned projects.

Mondelez Marketing Policies, Compliance and Integrity

  • Clear understanding of all relevant Mondelez policies, including Mondelez’s marketing policies to kids, compliance requirements and procedures.

  • All activities within guidelines.

Do you have what it takes?

  • Minimum 2 years related working experience in FMCG Industry doing brand/project management work

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong presentation skills

  • Should be independent in analyzing situations and formulating solutions as well as appropriately use discretion in referring to superior input
