This role is within the IHS Markit Product Master Data Maintenance team. It includes performing Product Master Data Maintenance duties, ensuring governance policies/controls are followed, improving and enhancing existing repeatable processes and tools, and supervising the work of other team members.
The Product Master Data Maintenance team members are the IHS Markit subject matter experts on managing and maintaining internal product data that is needed for transaction processing, product delivery, revenue recognition, and strategic reporting and analysis. This includes maintaining and stewarding product data in order processing (ERP) and sales force automation (SFA/CRM) systems to ensure correct and current data. This role will interact and collaborate with teams throughout IHS Markit, including finance/accounting, sales operations, product management, order management, and pricing teams.
General Job Duties:
Follows defined processes to maintain correct and accurate product master data (proper identification, standardization and classification) for transaction processing in key systems; meeting agreed upon internal Service Level Agreements (SLA)
Works product maintenance task queues to create and maintain products.
Applies product data management and governance policies, standards, and procedures to ensure accuracy and reliability of IHS product data
Resolves data quality issues as assigned
Tracks and reports work progress for audits and data validation activities
Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.
Normally receives general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new projects or assignments.
Develops subject matter expertise on product master data
Communicates all product master change information to stakeholders.
Retains and archives all documents relating to product master data.
Performs other tasks as required to support product data quality
Supports product master data stakeholders in understanding product master data standards, definitions, processes, policies, and tools via process and training documentation and job-aids as needed
Experience working with data entry or billing/ERP systems desired
Developing professional expertise, applies company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues.

Ability to prioritize tasks, strong organizational skills, and attention to detail/accuracy with data entry
Quick learner with ability to work independently when trained.

Computer experience in a windows environment and Microsoft office (incl Excel & PowerPoint) desired
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 1 years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent work MDM experience
