About the Opportunity
This role will be responsible for working with Melbourne Reward Equity team, the appointed share plan administrator, and Finance to support the management of BHP’s share plan administration (executive awards and Shareplus), including annual equity plan activity management (enrolment, grants, purchases and vesting), and management of employee equity and payroll accounting queries.

Understand the BHP company and HR operating models
Involved in a broad range of projects related to employee equity including the Executive Incentive Plan awards (Management Award Plan including any other executive awards, and Shareplus, BHP’s all-employee share plan. Support major equity plan events i.e. enrolment, grants, purchase, vesting, and dividends & voting
Provide assistance with tax reporting for employees and company reporting to tax authorities in multiple jurisdictions.
Work closely with payroll accounting team to address payroll accounting reconciliation issues.
Ensure the remittance of Shareplus contributions for purchases received from outsourced payrolls are completed on time and accurately
Involvement in annual equity event project planning and management for major events, i.e. grants, vesting, enrolment, dividends & voting.
Manage enquiries from employees, HR and reward teams related to equity plans with the external share plan administrator, payroll and the Reward Equity team, as appropriate
Assist in updating employee location history data for share income withholding tax processes and liaison with tax services provider
Maintain good relationship with peers within the BHP HR community (HRBP’s, Global Reward teams) and the external share plan administrator
Support the completion of equity plan projects and activities, and management of general day-to-day equity activities as agreed
Perform routine audits to ensure that all data relating to grants, exercises, releases, forfeitures, etc. are processed timely and accurately. Support internal audit to maintain internal controls (including SOX)
Identify opportunities for simplification, improvement and new initiatives to create efficiencies.
Work with team members and stakeholders on deliverables, initiatives and projects.
3+ years’ relevant experience with equity plans, ideally experience being part of an equity plan team or HR team within a large corporate environment or share plan administration environment
A qualification in Human Resources, or equivalent relevant experience
Competent in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Payroll and international HR experience a significant advantage
Experience in Project Management and/or Business Partnering an advantage
Demonstrated oral and written English language proficiency
Good people skills and ability to communicate with multiple stakeholders and collaborate well with others
Understanding of global jurisdictional differences, legislation and regulations in the industry an advantage
Experience with and understanding of:
Equity and incentive plans, including different types of instruments, plan design, and administration
Payroll and international remuneration processes
Reporting requirements and governance issues as they relate to equity and incentive plans including filing requirements and tax reporting
Relevant reward processes
High level of numeracy, attention to detail and accuracy.
