About the Opportunity

The SAP Centre Operations lead is responsible for managing all cross stream supporting activities of the SAP Competency Centre. This role will govern all non-delivery services for the Centre, including planning, knowledge management, compliance management, SAP business process modelling and ongoing centre development. This includes ensuring that sufficient capacity is available to meet customer demand and that agreed service levels can be achieved to the required levels of quality and efficiency. Also, this role is the single point of accountability for continuous improvement within the Centre, helping the whole team achieve SAP delivery excellence.

Key remit:

  • Using market-leading tools, you will be responsible for working with the PMO Controller and the SAP Functional Leads to manage the resource planning and capacity management of the Centre. This will include building a rigorous resource forecast, understanding the capacity requirements of changes to demand and being the focal point of integration across functional and technical teams to ensure that the business’ priorities are being appropriately managed across teams within the Centre. Govern the associated reports that provide management with the understanding needed to make operational decisions. Also, this role will be responsible for maintaining a productive meeting cadence that supports effective planning and management processes.

  • Manage the common SAP knowledge repository and ensure an efficient process for SAP blueprint management. Maintain document standards as aligned to the Enterprise Systems Document and Records Management framework, while also ensuring SOX controls can be easily traced and audited.

  • Work with the Knowledge and Development Coordinator to manage Centre-wide communications and engagement, integrating with GAS events and activities where required.

  • Work with the ARIS Specialist and the Enterprise Systems Deployment and Embedment team to maintain an accurate and useful 1SAP ARIS business process model, continuously learning and changing to provide the most efficient process for updating this system within the SAP delivery cycle. Govern the timely and accurate updates of training products within this management system.

  • Ensure service improvement planning, service monitoring and reporting are adhered to, and provide the delivery of stable IT services against defined Service Level Agreements (SLA) using tools in monitoring and measuring service performance and service availability.

  • Lead, coach, develop, plan and maintain work assignments of team members. Supervise efforts of team members, providing guidance to team members when necessary to achieve project and delivery commitments. Energy, enthusiasm and drive to make things happen by motivating the team.

  • Ensure all SAP changes, incidents and projects follow Technology architecture standards, GLD’s, Estimate reviews, SOX adherence.

  • Assist the SAP TCC Manager to develop policies and process for the TCC, using accepted best practices and proactively looking for continuous improvement opportunities for SAP processes.

  • Commits to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable development, as well as BHP Billiton's Charter and Code of Conduct

About you

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in a relevant field

  • ITIL Certification or equivalent demonstrated experience

  • More than 10 years of post-qualification experience within ideally an SAP Project Delivery environment or other technical centre of excellence for large, multinational organizations

  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of IT Service Management and Quality / SOX compliance Management for SAP Change Delivery

  • Ability to do hands on work on presentations, reporting and back up the team when required.

  • Ability to lead and work effectively in a diverse and globally dispersed virtual team environment, guiding and supporting team members

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to re-prioritise and juggle multiple priorities

  • Strong relationship building/networking skills and ability to influence key stakeholders

  • Builds highly cohesive teams with high energy levels and constructive, positive cultures
