Unit Presentation:

Contract Delivery Shared Service (CDSS), is the Shared Service of choice of BT supporting Lead to Cash (L2C) business processes. CDSS is a global organisation of 1000 staff globally including 160 in Malaysia supporting: Customer Service Request Management (from request handling to quoting, ordering and delivery tracking) and Commercial Operations (Inventory Management, Revenue Assurance, Billing, Contract Management etc.)

Purpose Of Role:

Has lead role and responsibility for planning and managing up to large-complex scale projects that may significantly affect the organisation at the Business Units (BU) and Line of Businesses (LOB) level. This role is likely to manage sections of large projects and will input into the project planning process as a member of a large project's management team. In addition, it is expected to supervise the work of Project Manager Apprentice and other project staff, and will work with external consultants to ensure deliverables. Has defined management responsibilities for project team, involving people, budget and planning. Has primary responsibility for meeting defined business goals as scoped by project objectives. Must have developed communication and diplomacy skills with a strong ability to persuade and influence client and stakeholder relationships. In many occasions where this role requires to interface with 3rd party suppliers, customer and other stakeholders which involves the agreement, planning, timelines and quality of deliverables.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrable experience and capability to manage up to large-complex scale projects.

  • Have accountability for delivery of key implementation projects, typically those of higher value and/or risk within the portfolio with some guidance and oversight from senior project management.

  • Act as a lead change agent with ability to channel resources effectively and internally developing a better delivery practice or ability to identify the change impact on the organisation, identify stakeholders and manage relationships, risk and engagement to deliver the project’s outcomes successfully.

  • Support continuous improvement of processes and methods, by capturing and documenting lessons learnt on all project deliveries, and improvise the processes/methods.

  • Evaluates, sometimes complex situations using multiple sources of information. The solution may require some new planning and resource elements but unless exceptional unlikely to be totally bespoke.

  • Projects may involve a higher element of risk to business and require the ability to use recognised project management methods and processes, depending on risk profile and governance needs.

  • Is recognised as a key supplier in the delivery of a client or internal business benefit.

  • Must have proven ability to apply relationship management skills and to be able to build and owned the client and stakeholder relationships at the senior level (e.g. GM and above or prime external customer).

  • Third party suppliers may have to managed in terms of selection, deliverables, timelines and budgets.

  • Directs and manages on all elements of the project and should guide Project Manager Apprentice.

  • Might lead a team on a portfolio of smaller scaled projects.

  • Effectively communicate with internal/external teams and clients regarding project deliverables and details. Many client communications are remote, so experience managing teams and relationships via e-communication and telephone is key.

  • Report on project progress to multiple stakeholders on a regular basis through management and facilitation of teleconference.

  • Create detailed project plans, specific to project needs through liaising with key stakeholders and using project management best practice techniques and tools.

  • In-depth understanding of how the business units integrate within the Line of Business and has developed a broad commercial awareness of the company’s products and services as compared to competitors.

  • Using project management software to develop, track and report on project process is mandatory.

  • Full autonomy to decide the achievement of all project needs, both resource-based and financial.

  • Will only need to seek higher authority on any matters that exceed budget limits or are perceived as outside scope of project activities.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified to Bachelor degree or higher level in Computer Science, Information Technology or similar relevance.

  • Project Management qualification (e.g.: PMP, PRINCE 2, APMP or similar) is required.

  • ITIL certified is add advantage.

Skills/Experience:

  • Required five (5) to seven (7) years of experience on leading medium to complex projects.

  • An experienced delivery agent with specific experience of delivering to clients directly and delivery of significant products as part of major BT and client programmes.

  • Experienced user of, and/or accredited in, a formal Project Management methodology such as Prince2, APMP, ITIL qualification, Risk Management Qualification or Six Sigma.

  • Excellent communication in English (Verbal and Written). Mandarin is add advantage.

  • Experienced in managing, multi-stakeholder projects, working to tight deadlines.

  • Experienced in telecommunication or network projects.
