Baker Hughes Incorporated (BHI) offers the opportunity as an experience Indirect Tax Analyst to join the team in Kuala Lumpur. This position will work along with a group of professional in supporting various financial functions within Enterprise Financial organization.

Key responsibilities / accountabilities

  • Prepare and submit periodic Value Added Tax (VAT) Europe filing reporting entities in accordance with the agreed submission deadlines.

  • Perform random checking and ensure proper tax code used of the transactions.

  • Perform reconciliations between VAT submissions and the general ledger VAT accounts.

  • Perform reconciliations between Revenue and VAT Return

  • Prepare request and manage VAT payment or to/ from Revenue Department and book keeping.

  • Liaise with various parties on unusual/ abnormal situation and ensure proper VAT treatment conducted.

  • Support preparation of documents and adjustments for monthly close as and when necessary.

  • Update on the local rules & regulation related to VAT

  • Prepare for or assist in the preparation of assigned Tax audits.

  • Be the specialist subject matter and able to provide advice to other business/support units when required.

  • Implement best practices for the indirect tax process and proactively identify, propose and implement continuous improvement opportunities in existing processes within the team.

  • Resolve or escalate any queries or issues received.

  • Any other duties as required.

Preferred qualification / requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Tax or equivalent

  • More than 5 years working experience in tax and accounting with understanding of Indirect Tax is required

  • Experience on Europe VAT is an added advantage

  • Preferable O&G background and other industries consider as well

  • SAP knowledge / skills is an advantage

  • Possess strong analytical skills with proactive mind-set, with the ability to bring expert advice and problem solving skills.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with excellent spoken and written English that enable effective working relationships with people from a wide variety of cultural backgrounds

  • Self-starter with ability to work under minimum supervision and tight deadlines

  • Ability to handle multiple activities successfully.
