Role Summary:

This position will ensure all related accounting activities are performed in a timely and efficient manner, in accordance with company policies and Accounting Standards. This role will be a critical part of the accounting department. The objective of this role is to support the EFO Regional Accounting Centre (RAC).

This is a key position in the RAC KL team which comprise of all locations of Middle East, Asia Pacific and Africa spread in different geo-markets and product lines. The post holder must work closely and strive to achieve high performance standards and meet the various financial deadlines.

The post holders will also work closely with internal and external auditors to help in the completion of all audits. Key to the position is the maintenance of Baker Hughes as completely compliant.

Essential Responsibilites:

  • Conduct related GL accounting specific activities ensuring that they are completed in time and accordance to the set guidelines, Policy and standard processes

  • Implement best practices in RAC which benchmark global best practices.

  • Prepare, document and keep up to date processes for accounting role.

  • Prepare and Review the monthly balance sheet reconciliations prepared by the BHI team and Accenture. Provide advice and support to the team with regards to correcting entries required.

  • Handle processes which involve interaction with respective Geomarkets / Countries mainly in 3 rd party cost, Deposit & Prepayment, and other cost accruals processes.

  • Assist and support other EFO teams/groups as required

  • Work closely with External and Internal Auditors to assist in completion of all audits.

  • Any other duties as required

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting / Finance or equivalent

  • ACCA / CA / CPA qualified

  • 3+ years of experience

  • Detailed knowledge of accounting principles

  • US GAAP

Desired Characteristics:

  • Key accounting skills - an in depth knowledge of Double Entry Book-keeping, Account Reconciliation, Accounting Concepts such as Revenue and Cost Matching, Accrual and Prepayments etc.

  • Excellent SAP, Hyperion and MS office skills

  • Soft-skills- Excellent communication and presentation skills, Networking & relationship building, Team working, Analytical skills, Decision making/ finding solutions, Self-motivation and driveContract interpretation skills
