Position Purpose and Summary

This position shall primarily focus to provide management reporting support for the below areas :

  • Be the expert of mark to market principles and perform all commercial contract valuation analysis

  • Prepare monthly gap analysis for WTG, CROE and base refining profit and loss statement. This include the analysis by product group and location

  • Perform forex analysis on all hedges for trade and non-trades.

Forex and Commercial Contract Positioning and Valuation Process

  • Leading the documentation and analysis of Commodity and Fx exposure reporting and suggest decisions to mitigate exposure

  • Ensure all margin calls of commodity exchanges are monitored within limit and manage the cash flow with brokers on daily basis

  • Review daily trades and contract exposure with commercial team to ensure appropriate action is taken to address all potential risks eg overdue contracts and transfer pricing

  • Monitor long term contract exposure with all oils suppliers to ensure the price and valuation is computed correctly for financial reporting.

  • Ensure working capital and cash position of the company is healthy to meet the company’s requirement (cash flow & hedging)

  • Provide timely and accurate trading data and reporting to commercial teams, FP&A, and other partners, this include estimate and final trading PL regular update of exposure etc.

  • Develop effective and efficient SOP process for reconciliation of trading PNL estimate with accounting PNL and ensure any significant differences are resolved and communicated appropriately.

  • Ensure financial compliances with local laws relating to derivatives both commodity and foreign exchange and ensure all reporting to regulators are done in compliance with applicable laws.

  • Ensure compliance, specifically with risk reporting requirement of applicable laws including local and US eg Mdex regulation, BNM regulation etc.

Management Profit and Loss Analysis

  • To perform and close profit and loss and balance sheet for WTG and CROE ledger

  • Work with CBS team to ensure monthly closing process involving forex and commercial contract MTM are computed completely and accurately, this include verification of monthend price, premium / discount valuation, etc.

  • Perform gap analysis eg comparing actual against budget / estimate /forecast of trading /value added / base refining PL on monthly basis.

  • Deep dive the issue in relation the performance gap

  • Generate management report deck for review by FPA and management team

  • Provide facts and supporting to support PL commentary to corporate.

Qualifications

Education, Experience and Skills:

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • Working experience of 2 years

  • Finance /Accounting or relevant finance profession graduates

  • Proficiency in excel and power points presentation

  • Good analytical skill

  • People agile and able to work with colleagues from different functions

Preferred Required Qualifications

  • Commodity and manufacturing exposure

  • SAP knowledge
