The Editorial Operations Associate (OA) is responsible for processing and publishing content, assuring the integrity, utility and currency of editorial content of all publications within the publishing portfolio. This must be done in the context of strict adherence to the publishing schedule and compliance with standards, including editorial benchmarks and quality assurance measures. Close interaction with support staff and operations personnel is required to carry out the role effectively.

Working as part of Editorial Operations team, each Associate is responsible for all operational aspects of editorial publishing process for products assigned to him/her, including data conversion, and quality assurance. The incumbent also is responsible data preparation, versioning, validity, and completeness for delivery to EPD for electronic publishing. The Associate also undertakes other operational and publishing ad-hoc tasks. Working partnerships include Editorial, GTO, Logistics and external vendors.

The primary focus of this role will be resolving quality and data integrity issues within the existing HK content portfolio as we roll out the LexisAdvance platform. Assisting editors with BAU publishing is expected as required.

Key Requirements:

  • Strong PC skills, including experience in Word, Excel, Outlook and PC file management

  • Working knowledge/experience in markup languages is preferred i.e. XML

  • Strong organizational, prioritization, multi-tasking skills and flexibility are required to adjust to changing priorities to meet departmental and company goals within tight deadlines

  • Strong collaborative, communication, initiative skills and problem solving skills are necessary to work with all team members and other LexisNexis employees

  • Ability to learn, retain and become proficient in new software packages and technical skills
