The Finance team at HPE provides world class decision support driving profitable growth and exceptional shareholder value through our commitment to operational excellence, people development, and innovation. We provide accurate and timely financial information meeting the company’s regulatory and fiduciary responsibilities with unwavering integrity.
In the Finance division, our reporting and controlling teams are working on tasks like asset management, financial integration of mergers and acquisitions, as well as USGAAP-reporting. Our objective is to display all business activities in a financially correct and transparent manner.
Ensure that HPE is compliant and meets all its obligations towards Country Payroll Legislation and all its obligations towards employees. Partners with the businesses and internal stakeholders to ensure that the employee experience is in line with our benchmark. Gathers data and performs analyses and reporting (e.g., Performance of the payroll team, response timeliness and satisfaction rate for queries from employees). Be the point of contact for the country and support cross-business initiatives (e.g., Mergers & Acquisitions). Drives the forecasting process (weekly, monthly, and long term) by analyzing trends within the businesses and ensuring alignment with business- and corporate-wide objectives. Ensures strong business controls. Handle independently audits from country statutory agencies.
Manages a team of exempt individual contributors that typically support Payroll for countries in APJ
Responsible for hiring, setting and monitoring of annual performance plans, coaching, and career development; ensures that the proper tools are in place to support the team and the processes.
Leads moderate to complex Payroll activities for countries, exercising a good understanding of the legislation to determine the best method for achieving objectives.
Ensures the accuracy and timeliness of payments to employees, government agencies and 3rd parties
Consults with business leaders to guide and influence strategic decision-making within a limited scope.
Proactively identifies opportunities for process improvement and policy development and engages in the design.
Actively reviews and analyzes the key controls within the financial process to ensure compliance with legal and accounting requirements
About the candidate
Education and Experience Required:
First level university degree with a focus in finance or business;
Typically 15+ years of experience in Payroll function.
Typically 5+ years of supervisory and/or leading a project team experience.
Knowledge and Skills:
Excellent understanding of country payroll legislation for Singapore and Malaysia.
Excellent analytical skills.
Good project management skills.
Good people management skills, including managing teams across geographies.
Excellent communication skills.
Strong business acumen.
Good understanding of the company's policies and processes.
Strong multi-tasking and prioritization skills
